Out of the Mouth of Babes

I couldn't resist doing this design.  Several years back I went to visit one of my sons who received training from the Iris Ministries in Mozambique.  While there over a couple months, one such child (Not the one pictured here) would call me out at around 5 in the morning, “Papa Bill, Papa Bill, you awake?  Come out and play!”  Needless to say I was up and out, and ready to play.  What impressed me mostly while there was the faith of these children.  They had such pure, simple faith to be able to trust the Lord.  I did a reverse on this picture, but decided to black out the background, so the child would pop out at us.  Thank you Heidi, you've changed my life forever, for the good.

Dr. Heidi and Rolland Baker started in an impoverished area of Mozambique where children would go to the garbage dumps to find food for the day.  They simply loved on the children, built an orphanage, and from there grew churches.  Today many of those children are adults and there are a host of churches from their efforts around the world.

I spent a couple months there observing because I was curious as to what my son got himself involved in.  While there, I found a ministry that had a huge "circus" type of tent with a dirt floor they used as their church.  A wooden platform was made to raise the music leaders and speaker a little and that was it.


What amazed me was seeing the Lord show up big time.  So much so, the children would bow almost immediately as He presented Himself to them, so they could worship their Lord.  It was a very humbling experience, like nothing I'd ever witnessed.  Yet over time, I came to see these babes in Christ love on Him over and over.  They hungered and thirsted for Him and longed to see Him show up and show off, and He did.


When I first saw this picture I saw such Innocence and love and intimacy.  As or Lord says, "Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all."
