A Ripe Harvest

Jesus just finished a conversation with the Samaritan woman.  He immediately after that encounter turns to His disciples and refers to this time as “harvest time”.  While working with this picture, the Lord again brought this verse to mind.  It just spoke loudly to me of a ready harvest.  This is another reverse graphic effect with several effects added, including the lighting effect.

The verse that came to mind while working on this piece was... "Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest." Matthew Henry's comments on this particular passage is this:  " Harvest-time is a short time, and harvest-work must be done then, or not at all; so the time of the gospel is a season, which if once past, cannot be recalled. God sometimes uses very weak and unlikely instruments for beginning and carrying on a good work. Our Savior, by teaching one poor woman, spread knowledge to a whole town."

It speaks to me that every encounter is a sovereign encounter from God, and we must see it as our last encounter.  If we hold this perspective, we will be motivated to cut through the small talk and express ourselves about our intimacy with Christ.  Just reading through all of this and reflecting on my day, I see that His hand had sovereignly directed an encounter today, and I was not sensitive to Him until now.  "...I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields!  (Today) They are ripe for harvest."  So true.

A vid for you that goes with the topic...
